Internal communications engages employees in the face of an economic downturn
Like many businesses, the tumultuous economic climate forced significant changes within GE Transportation, a $5 billion business unit of General Electric. Financial stress and workforce reductions amidst aggressive business imperatives, as well as new leadership, created an uncertain environment. As signs of stability appeared, it was critical to GE Transportation management to revitalize a demoralized employee base and position the business for the future.
We worked with GE Transportation to create an internal communications employee engagement campaign that tapped into their more than 100-year legacy of innovation. We worked closely with GE Transportation management to develop an ongoing employee engagement campaign entitled “This is (y)our time”. The core idea being that GE’s legacy of innovation—and the people behind it—is what connects the business’s rich history with its future success.
